Cardinal Grammeter
On my 74, everything behind the grille is painted black. Truck was repainted red (was blue) and under the black I found blue. I suspect the entire core support should be body color. Thanks Tom Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yes, it's same as body color. I find seeing the body color through the grill not appealing. I like it to be black so the grill stands out by itself. 2 Quote Link to comment
Cardinal Grammeter
Yeah, that's what I thought. Obviously, they painted the vertical panel the headlight buckets bolt onto, but they also painted the top surface of the box section behind the bumper and actually parts of the fenders that are behind the grille. I"ll have to put the grille on and see if I can keep the black only on the vertical part behind the grille. If I can keep the entire fender color, I'll do it. And the box top behind the bumper too. Frankly, I don't think that top is even visible. I know when assembled I dropped a socket onto it and it was almost impossible to fish it out. Thanks, Tom Quote Link to comment
Cardinal Grammeter
I was thinking about it, and am going to paint the radiator/core support the body color it is supposed to be. The 620 is now so old and rare to see, seeing color behind the grille adds to the its uniqueness. Quote Link to comment
