Lostcause521
I got my U67 head checked out and it's warped but rebuildable for $400+. I pulled an a87 peanut head from the junkyard for $50 and it's warped as well. What are my chances of getting a strait head in a junkyard and how much warp can be tolerated by these engines? Eagle_Adam
ive had warped heads straitened out before, but ive also pulled 2 good heads from the JY. Just luck of the draw i guess Quote Link to comment
dr.feltersnatch
max warp is .004 does it need a full rebuild? just milling it flat should be nowhere near that much. if the valves need to be redone as well 400 sounds about right. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Nissan says .0039 warp is OK and does not need to be machined. If it is .004 or more, get it machined. If it is .020 warped, pass on that head. Quote Link to comment
Lostcause521
It's already been milled before and its out of speck. There are not a lot of these engines left in SoCal these days and when they pop up in the junk yard they are picked clean in days. Quote Link to comment
Lostcause521
The peanut head is more than .020 warped and the the u67 is .016 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
depens on warp. You will have to machine the top also otherwise the cam mite bind. then use head saver shims under the cam tower. Silver Seal sells them. Quote Link to comment
