datzenmike
Do the things that are user friendly easy and cheap. Check the fluid level warm and idling. Too full can cause foaming, and as air is compressible it will affect hydraulic pressure. Hydraulic pressure is what holds it in gear. Too little and it might suck air in on sudden stops or starts from the fluid sloshing around. Look at the color. It should be ruby red and clear. Does it smell burnt? Is it brown or even black? discoloring can be from over heating and black is likely worn off clutch material. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Check the level when HOT. Automatic transmission fluid level changes a lot with temperature. I've had many an automatic slip when level was incorrect, never had one go bad on me. Quote Link to comment
