Guest DatsuNoob
Does anyone know the stock ohm resistance for a stock 620 fuel guage? I'm trying to buy an aftermarket one and I need to know which one to get based on comparing the resistance ratings. Thanks Quote Link to comment
moparvwfreak
its not the guage that you need the resistance for. its the sender in the tank. if you can pull that and measure the resistance you'll have your answer. i personally dont knwo it but someone else here may. Guest DatsuNoob
That's what I meant. Who knows what the resistance of the stock sender is at full and empty, so I know which guage to buy. Or could I just switch my stock one with one matched to the guage? I'm an electrical dummy, please help. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
moparvwfreak
i would go with the matched sender. that way its not a guessing game. order it together with the guage adn your golden. autometer is the best i have found so far. why not use the stock guage? are you going full custom dash and guages??? Guest DatsuNoob
yeah, doing away with stock guages. thinking aluminum bezel with auto meter ultra lites and a glassed dash. Not sure how confident I am in my electrical skills. I need a guy I can bribe with beer to lend a hand. Quote Link to comment
moparvwfreak
i would be more than happy to come down for gas $$ and some pop. i am actually pretty good with wirez and stuff :D Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I used a 720 gas tank on my 620 and the gauge read the same, so the senders in the tank are the same. The 720 sender will read +-10 ohms when fully up in the full position. It will read +- 80 ohms in the fully down position when empty. This is from my 720 FSM. Quote Link to comment
Guest DatsuNoob
good to know, thanks Mike! Quote Link to comment
hang_510
... sender will read +-10 ohms when fully up in the full position. It will read +- 80 ohms in the fully down position when empty. so what your really saying is that a 0-90ohm after market sender will work w/the stock gauge. i think the 510 uses the same values too.
