ggzilla
What is the transmission code on the VIN plate? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
H-190 only came on 2wd 4 cylinder trucks. I wonder if it's the electronic sensor for ABS... or speedo sensor? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
There was a Nissan Electro Anti-Lock on the Hardbody. Yes, H190 EAL came on 2WD 4-cyl only. The 3rd member came in 3.545, 3.7 and 4.111 ratiios. The 3.700 version came in 4-speed Hardbodies 1995 and early 1996. Quote Link to comment

selrahc360
Sensor for ABS is not on the carrier I have seen those and they are out board at each wheel. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
EAL is not electrically operated LSD, but has an ABS sensor on the 3rd member. It came only on LSD vehicles. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes, that's the EAL sensor. It's the aluminum ring adapter behind the driveshaft flange (the wires are part of that). ABS comes in many flavors and Nissan has used most of them, including 1-sensor ABS, 2-sensor ABS and 4-sensor ABS. EAL was the first Japanese system and fitted to the H190 in 1971. The 1967 Jensen FF was the first car to use ABS. A lot has happened in the last 50 years. Quote Link to comment
selrahc360
Thanks! Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The good news it is LSD, and you can simply leave the wires unconnected to use it. It is the good clutch-pack type LSD, so can be rebuilt if it slips too much. EXCEPT... it is not LSD but an open diff in your 2nd photo. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I didn't think the '95s had LSD. Only the '88-'93 2wd four cylinder (Z24i and KA24E) D-21s had an optional LSD on the H-190. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
A 1995 is a D21U ... does that make a difference? Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Sorry to disrupt the info...but I see a member that lives in Pasco that I have yet to meet! Quote Link to comment
