rhd_ole
Hey everyone.. Name is Ole, ( oh-lee ) I've been reading on there for a while, thought it'd be time to join up. I really enjoy the Japanese cars, and have imported several. I started out with RHD '96 Spec Integra Type-R, then a '02 RHD S2000, now on to the Bluebird... I do all the resto and building at my own shop. I do a lot of car builds, shave bays, wiring etc out of there my by buddy.. So far, The bluebird it's been one of my favorite vehicles I've owned.. I know I'll be keeping this car for years and years. I have a 2 year resto plan for the car. The car is in outstanding shape for it's year, but I'm a perfectionist so it must all be perfect. This year I'm focusing on the smaller parts that are still available to get such as door handles and other various parts. Getting those and redoing the chrome/stainless will also happen. The second year I will do a full respray inside and out more than likely. I'm not really sure as of now since the paint is in great shape, and I think is about 7 years old. I look forward to chatting with you all and helping if a can. I also work as a graphic designer in a sign shop, doing vehicle wraps, decals, shirts ,hats etc if anyone is every looking. Anyway on to the pics of.. 1 Quote Link to comment
Just Joel
So nice... What's under the hood? Quote Link to comment
rhd_ole
it's the stock L18 twin carb..The car is all OG... I may slap a SR20 in for fun.. although my mind is telling me to keep it period and do a Rebello in it. I know these imported Bluebirds will increase in value as the years go by, so I want to keep it original as I can, or able to put it back if I wanted. That and it being the 1800 SSS, makes me not want to change it much. Quote Link to comment

rhd_ole
Yeah.. I had to have the car appraised for my insurance.. Watching the appraisers was hilarious, they were so confused, got a outstanding number out from them due to it though.. Quote Link to comment

rhd_ole
Yeah doesn't bother me.. $28,500 average, two appraisals, one at $27,250, other at $29,750, 3 comparable in the US from their data, even though I know there are more.. They said they only found 1 other real 1800, rest were 1600's. Quote Link to comment
jvb5577
That's a lot of dough! I would keep it original.. but that's just me. Did you acquire the car in the condition it is in or did you build it up to how it is? 1 Quote Link to comment
rhd_ole
That is how I got the car.. I haven't done anything to it. It has zero rust, runs perfect, all electronics work, has 49k km on it, only thing really needs work is the rear taillight cover, and the bumpers need new chrome, those and the one seat has a small tear.. otherwise, great.. 1 Quote Link to comment

rhd_ole
Haha, yeah I've built a lot of honda's some for show, some damn fast ones. I grew up around them so I know them very very well, but I've built just about model made from Honda so it was time to move to a different manufacturer.. Plus, my father always told me growing up, you'll never love these cars till you build an old classic. It was funny when I told him I finally bought an old classic and showed him this.. With wiring being one of my very strong suits, this car looks like it will be very simple for me. Quote Link to comment
