CameronT
I am wondering about a pertronix swap, gonna do thicker wires and was wondering with the 1741 can I run a accel street stack 42,000 volt 1.2 ohms and be fine? Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
No. The pertronix needs a minimum 3 ohms resistance at the coil. Either by using a 3 ohm coil, or combining a ballast resistor with the coil to get 3 ohms. Less resistance, and the pertronix will burn up. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Duplicate question, dude. You asked today at http://community.ratsun.net/topic/12966-pertronix-1741-ignitor-and-40000-volt-flamethrower-coil/?do=findComment&comment=1016867 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
use the stock coil and ballast yourll be fine. reliability will be better. if not needed dont change the coil. if you do run the accell make sure you keep the stock ballast resisitor in there. accell is more bling than anything. Alot is now made in china the super coils are still USA. big the weight of the Coil usually outweighs the power gain from this swap. Quote Link to comment
