Bugeye Posted August 21, 2008 Report Share Posted August 21, 2008 with numbers like these, who needs to rebuild the engine Compression #1 160 #2 165 #3 170 #4 160 Cylinder leak down test #1 7% #2 7% #3 6% #4 6% Intake Manifold Vacuum 20" hg The only reason I had the high #'s on the cylinder leak down is I have the valves set a little tight. Bear in mind, this is the original engine, never been opened up and has 292, 452 miles on it and its 30 years old Quote Link to comment

I inherited some problems,my Block smokes like a chimney out of the #4 Cylinder.Not even Bardhal 'NO SMOKE' helps me! I'm getting ready to pull the motor this month! Bugeye Posted August 22, 2008 Author Report Share Posted August 22, 2008 im not even going to dick with it, the only things i need to really do is reseal the timing chain cover and replace the main seal, we did find the carb was loose at the base and the main body was loose too, but thanks to conrad I dont have to worry about a carb, now I will have 2 Quote Link to comment
