What fastener is used for the Heater Lever/Knob?  I have tried mant bolt and nut combinations, but none seem to seat against the contour of the knob.

I pulled the screw out of one of my Datsun 521 heater knobs, and measured the diameter over the threads, .113 was the measurement I came up with.

The screw that holds the stock fusebox cover on a 521 is a #4-40, and it also measures .113, but the threads look finer (smaller, closer together) on the heater control knob screw.

According to a Tap & Die drill size chart I have, there is also a #4-48 screw available.

Great.

The bolt.screw head is recessed. is the head a FILLISTER style?

Now, how about the nut, the flat face of the bolt not fully contacting the curved surface of the knob.  (If the fastener is tightened too much, the knob will crack at the contact point of the nut.)
