Process involving fixing/replacing a 720 KC fuel gauge?

Recommended Posts

well first things first, i was driving along the highway on the way home and ran outta fuel and had to run 100m to the gas station paid $26 for a 5 Litre jerry can, then paid 5 bucks for 3.77 litres of fuel, then paid $66 to fill it,

my fuel gauge always reads full unless the car is turned off, then it reads empty so im thinking its just a stuck float, would i need to remove my tray to get the whole float out, and what parts would i be checking for and cleaning because ive never removed one before?

I think there is a plug close to the 720 tank that separates it from the under truck harness.

Un-plug it....

If the gauge remains FULL with the key on then the wire between there and the dash maybe pinched and grounded.

If the gauge drops then possibly the float has stuck in the up position
