datzenmike Posted October 18, 2013 Report Share Posted October 18, 2013 Cold adjustments assume that the motor will warm up to the correct lash. If the motor is already hot it can't be wrong. Cold would be fine for setting an initial lash on assembly. Hot checking assures it is correct when running. Quote Link to comment

EricJB Posted October 18, 2013 Report Share Posted October 18, 2013 Don't forget, with NGK and only NGK, the lower the #, the hotter the plug. A 5 is hotter than a 6. Bosch is the opposite. Check your ground connection from the body to the battery. Quote Link to comment

jacobryandavidson Posted October 19, 2013 Author Report Share Posted October 19, 2013 I know it looks like metal shavings but its White Rock from our driveway and the number one piston was scarred up yes and that developed a pretty bad knock but I can sit here and rap eight grand and it won't blow so I don't know what's that thing it only does it around 3000 rpm and when I let off the gas Quote Link to comment

If within spec you can just replace the bearings. I'd do all of them as you have it apart anyway. Quote Link to comment

Louder with heavy throttle??? What did the other bearings look like? If also worn did you check the mains? Quote Link to comment
