moparvwfreak
the 72-73 rad is an inch shorter width wise than the 74+ rads. when i got my truck it had a 74 + rad in it and that was held in bu bungee cords because it wouldn't bolt in. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Starting around '75 with the new L20B the rad support was modified to fit the larger rads. Here's one where you can see it bulges out toward the grill to give more room. All earlier ones are straight across. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q251/datzenmike/truckradsupportL20b.jpg[/img]"] Lynch: You should run your truck much hotter than that. The L20B was designed to work in the 185-195 range. If you have a 3 core rad with the proper shroud and the clutch fan is good, it won't overheat. There will be fewer engine deposits, better mileage and the oil will stay cleaner longer. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
A shroud will increase fan efficiency so you can run it hotter without worries. Better heat and defrost in the winter too. Quote Link to comment
