benrob
just got my sr20 running in my 521 a few weeks ago , the turbo makes a high pitch wine when it starts producing boost , so i took of the intake and felt for slop in the shaft and there is no slop in and out but quite a bit up and down. i also am seeing oil residue in the turbo ????? datzenmike
Probably should be more snug than that. Best to have it re conditioned now than further damage if it come apart.. Quote Link to comment
benrob
so i have a stock turbo of a rb 26 that i was thinking about rebuilding that and putting it on the sr , but dos that open a can of worms ,can i run the same injectors/ fuel rail ? either way im going to have to tune it and was planning on doing this upgrade sometime in the future ,so i mine as well just do it now Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Sounds like it's time to take it off for a rebuild before you blow it to pieces. If you're finding oil on the turbo, you probably have an oil seal worn out. Or the oil line is seeping. Quote Link to comment
Draker
Replace CHRA > Rebuilt turbo. If you want it to last, buy a new CHRA and clock it yourself. If you want to rebuild it again in 20,000 miles or so rebuild it. Quote Link to comment
benrob
The turbo is a garett a/r 42 m24 , witch I think is a t28 but not sure? And again not sure if id need to upgrade my fuel system? Quote Link to comment
Danfinny
if it came of an rb26 it should be a t28 depending on the year its probly a ball bearing one. no upgrades required. just slap that bad boy on. Quote Link to comment
