reese
I have an stock l16 and I want to buy a pertronix 1741 electronic ignition conversion. Do I use a 1.5 ohm coil and keep the ballast resistor. My last car with l16 had a pertronix on it with a 3.0 ohm coil and the ballast removed. Which is correct? Thanks, Erik in NE Portland Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
both ways are correct I personally use the ballast resistor because my coil worked fine, just wanted ease of use so i could make longer carefree trips.. Just hook power plus (red) to side of resistor that has 12 volts going in ,, and your good to go. Quote Link to comment

reese
Erik, I would suggest the 1.5 ohm along with your factory resister. Marvin Grebow Jr PerTronix Inc. Technical Department 909-273-6006 marving@pertron Quote Link to comment
