datzenmike
Replaced about 70% of the vacuum lines, plugs and wires. Cleaned the egr valve and carb. Runs like a charm. . ...and they will but owners think they are too complicated and start removing things and add problems. I think there is an unconscious belief that they are doing themselves a favor by doing this. The Z engines won't run any better and some of the equipment actually increases mileage. In the long run it is cheaper and easier to maintain the emissions system in good running order. Go figure. Quote Link to comment

My bone stock 720 (HAS to be in California) runs excellent and pulls 31mpg when I don't hammer it. Disable the feedback system.... 14mpg. Note that any vacuum hoses with a colored stripe on them have an orifice in them. To replace those, cut the hose open, retrieve the little restrictor orifice and push it into the new hose. datzenmike
Yup, seen them. It's to prevent short term vacuum spikes from affecting the emissions system in an adverse way. Quote Link to comment
Ls1camaro00
I'm new to this forum and I just got my first nissan 720 pickup 4x4 but man yours is super nice!! Great looking truck. Does it have any type of lift on it? Quote Link to comment
72O
Cranked torsion bars in front, add-a-leaf in rear. Rancho shocks. Quote Link to comment
ikerex
Super clean truck! I really like it. Did you ever resolve the sloppy shifting issue? Mines an 85 4x4 and has the same problem. Are the shifter bushing the culprit and are they easy to replace? Quote Link to comment
72O
Sloppy? Meaning that it has some play? Can you wiggle it while its in gear? I've done some searching and the bushings are hard to find but i"m sure you can fabricate your own or find some online. Quote Link to comment
ikerex
Ya, it has play while in gear. Its more annoying than anything else. The tranny is new, only has about 2-3K on it. I'll do a search for the bushings. Quote Link to comment
