KiloTango1200
Will the A12 GX double valve spring fit an A14? I want a high rev A14 and need to know how to proceed with a healthy, stock A14. Also will an A12 header fit on an A14 head? Seems to be a lot more performance parts for the A12 than for the A14. Or maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
It's my understanding that most A12 and A14 parts interchange (for the most part) however the A15 had a taller deck height. I could be wrong. Been a while since I've been around A series. Quote Link to comment
Morrisun
Yes the springs will fit. Here is a link to a mild A14 build- http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/index.php?title=A14_Engine#Mild_Build_Upgrade The headers will bolt on to the heads, it's the lenght of the tubes and collector as the B210/210 headers tend to be a bit long for putting into a 1200. However they can be cut and rewelded IF there is anything left of the tubes. An A14 block has a high deck height (started with the A13 blocks) and that may also contrubite to fitting a header. New A-series headers are available but I would caution you in purchasing one from the Oregon state area. Cylinder heads like an H89 larger oval ports, valves- 37mm intake, 30mm exhaust- getting harder find and the cost is up. Peter Zekert, http://www.peterzekert.com/for-sale has cylinder heads for sale from time to time, most have been worked to flow better on race engines. He also has race pistons- used, that may work for your engine. Texas has it's share of Datsun race cars running A series engines, you may what to contact one of them and find who builds engines for them. Flat top pistons for a A14- new about $700.00+ Isky spring that don't bind another $125.00 plus retainers and what cam? And when it's done will it be "streetable" or are you building for Auto-X or the track?? 1 Quote Link to comment

The 1200 is in very good original condition so it will get a cosmetic restoration, but I would still like to run it Auto-X occasionally. Texas Motor Speedway is only 15 miles from me. K Appley
A14 and A15 block's were the same with just the crank stroke and piston's changed. Kurt. Quote Link to comment
