Another question... any tips on removing the cab?

I am going to have to swap the cab from my 76 short bed to my 77 long bed. I need to use the wiring harness from the long bed. What is going to be my best approach? Do I need to pull the wiring harness from the engine bay into the cab or pull the harness from the inside out? I know this may be a jump in feet first and good luck with it situation, but any tips are greatly appreciated.

It can only go one way... from the engine into the cab. There are plugs behind the glove box that can't fit the hole into the engine compartment. There is a 10 pin connector under the pass side seat.. unplug and push the rubber grommet and the frame harness through the cab floor.

 

The long wheelbase frame harness is fine just bundle up the extra length and ty-strap it to the frame.

Awesome thanks Mike! I will be using the long bed and lwb frame... The only thing I'm using from the SWB is the cab and the a/c unit.

No wiring help, but pulling the steering wheel and sliding the cab off of (the column) is usually easier than trying to disconnect the column and trying to lift it straight up/off as well I believe.

Take the bolts off that hold the steering box to the frame,and that will let the column move up and down and side to side a little.

Remove as much weight as you can from the cab.
