Fuelrags
Hey guys, So what's the scoop....Is there an easy, inexpensive bolt-in upgrade Engine Swap for my 73' 620 with out a lot of headaches? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Easy... L20B came in the '75-'79 620 so will fit perfectly and the stock tranny will bolt up. The differences are that it's 3/4" taller... no biggie on a truck. The exhaust manifold is a single large pipe and not a double into a collector like yours. You will need the L20B flywheel and clutch, yours won't fit. Get the motor mounts too just in case. Years ago I put an L20B into a 521 and I don't remember any problems. Easy... no headaches. 10-15 more horse and more torque. Quote Link to comment
dat521gatherer
make sure if you get a l2ob out of a car that you swap the oil pans. just make sure you have a truck oil pan. i got my l20b from a 80 720 and put it in my 72 521.:D l18 is a direct bolt in also. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
use your oil pan and motor mounta that are in tha truck already. Never heard the car pan thing as those pans will not clear the streering x arm ck the oil pick up if different Quote Link to comment
