need to fix fender mirror

uncovered my 521 today just to discover that my passenger side fender mirror didn't look right.. seems it ain't tight and just spins around and won't tighten back up.. anyone know a way to fix this unfortunate problem?

Two possibilities.

 

If this is an aftermarket unit, it may have a Phillips head tension adjust screw on the front facing portion of the arm.  I doubt this because you would have noticed this by now.

 

The factory and some after market units have a cable tensioning device accessable from the bottom of the arm.  Remove the mirror from the base [probably need access inside the fender], adjust tension by the Phillips head screw inside the base and reinstall to the base.

 

Hope it's not more exotic than this.
