Lights just went out?

I was driving around and my headlights just went out no headlight or highbeams, fuse is fine, what else could be wrong? Please help, I'm SOL cause I'm a night owl

Fuses are not to be trusted... don't believe anything they tell you. Always simply replace them.

 

They are often broken inside and you can't see it. With the headlights on place a quarter across the clips that hold it... see if they come on. Sometimes the clips get corroded and make bad contact. This often leads to a resistance which heats them up, hot enough to take the temper out of the metal so they don't grip the fuse properly making things even worse. Then the plastic plug on the back melts and there is no fix but to replace.

I didn't have a quarter so I used a half dollar, and still nothing, doesnt like like any corrosion at all, and the back looks fine,

Is it a factory switch? My switch looks to be factory, but actually is a universal from AZ. It has a fuse on top of the switch that I didn't see until I took it all apart.

I actually think mines factory the guy I got it off did like nothing to this thing

Check the ground wire. It is on the core support right by the battery between the radiator and the right front inner headlight. And make sure that you have good grounds from the battery to the motor, frame and body.

 

Get you test light out. Do you have power to the fuse? If yes, do you have power at the headlight connectors? If yes, then it is a ground problem.

 

If you don't have power to the fuse, then look at the fusible link at the battery.
