73dat620
I doubt it needs a complete rebuild just thinking about it if it's somewhat cost affective! My problem is its spraying oil to the point that I can't drive it. Put two quarts in drove one mile to my house and lost pretty much all the oil I put in it. Looks like its come out where the head meets the block Quote Link to comment
Janksun
Re-torque your head bolts before you do anything. Quote Link to comment

73dat620
So just got a line on a L18 block that is almost new, less then 1000 miles for about $200. Going to try and get it, then clean up my head, and maybe a larger cam. Any advise? Quote Link to comment
DeviousPsycho620
Do it!!! 1 Quote Link to comment
73dat620
Right on Devious! I was told if I get a hold of a L20 head, I can shave it down and it will fit, do you know anything about that? Quote Link to comment
DeviousPsycho620
No. I have a KA in my truck. Sorry guy. Quote Link to comment
73dat620
That's awesome! Your truck sounds like a badass! Does the KA fit pretty easy or did you have to modify the engine compartment? Quote Link to comment
DeviousPsycho620
I was lucky and bought it that way. From the looks of it, it fits with no mods. Members make the parts to do it. ie; engine mounts, wiring accessories, ect. It seems pretty straight forward. And oh the power!!! Its pretty badass for a SOHC. 5 speed is awesome to have as well. 73dat620
Yeah I bet, I'm looking for a dogleg 5 speed Quote Link to comment
DeviousPsycho620
Why a dog leg? If you don't mind me asking? Quote Link to comment
73dat620
I was told it wa the only one that fits without modifying anything. What would you suggest? Quote Link to comment
sick620
yeah, because your truck is 74 and before its transmission is the same length as a 510 or 521,, which makes a 5 speed swap a little harder with out modifying the driveline... post 74 620's have a longer tranny, same length as a 280z etc. . . So yes dogleg will work for you...Dont take my word on it but I think if you get a late model 620 drive shaft and a long 5speed it will bolt in...... as for Ka your truck would need engine mounts, you can buy those from redeye here on ratsun, 5 speed from a napz, and if you have already had a long tranny driveline made it will bolt right in.... and you can even carb a ka, wide14u on here did it... Janksun
Because your truck is a 73, the only transmission that will bolt in is the dogleg. If you do get a long tail, you'll have to modify the mount as well as get a different driveline. Also many people have put a KA in their trucks. Here's a good thread to read http://community.ratsun.net/topic/37-ka24e-into-a-620/ Quote Link to comment
