dat521gatherer
Are both of these holes supposed to go through? Because there is only one side that is clear the other was casted solid. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
You can getthem with two holes, I think from a 38 DGAS, but the DGV is a progressive linkage carburetor so it only has the primary drilled. Quote Link to comment
dat521gatherer
Looks like the standard only has one hole and high performance has dual holes. Quote Link to comment
dat521gatherer
Damn and here I thought I found why it is back firing through the carb and very sluggish on the primary. Any idea why my 2 idle jet screws are 2 different sizes on this weber where there are the same size on my other weber? Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
The large jet holder is on the primary side and came in carburetors that may have been equipped with an electric fuel shut off solenoid. Some carbs had the thread, but not the solenoid. Good luck finding jets for that one. I sometimes will solder the hole shut and then drill it with a jet drill (to make it smaller) or just drill it to make it larger. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Having the two holes in the pump nozzle does not do any good in a progressive linkage carb. You'll be squirting gas into a closed throttle bore. More HP can be gained with other mods to the carb, like larger auxilliary venturis. Unless you swap linkage, keep the single hole pump nozzle. banzai510(hainz)
you can find jets for them Top End Performance had a listing for them and even pitures. Theres a Weber place in Auburn that has these also. Yes its for the idle cut off seliniod. The later 32/36 DGEV-IC set ups is the carb to say you have to get the Biiger brass screw jets. the manual choke 5A series is usually the common smaller jet holder size. Quote Link to comment
racerx
Sometimes people re-jet them and this is why it's good to check jets before installing them..when you buy something use,y ou don't know the history, specially carbs, unless the person you bought it from can tell you why the JETs are same same or different.
