Should be looking at several 620 King cabs out of state this weekend...

and want to be sure I know where to look for vin plates and number stampings so they can be matched to a truck's paperwork - the LAST thing I need is to buy a truck in Oregon or Washington, get it back to central CA, and find that it can't be registered due the frame number not matching the title....

Search only turned up one thread that addressed the issue, but it wasn't entirely specific to 620's - if I understand correctly, the VIN should show up in three locations:

1. Stamped on a plate riveted to the door jamb on the driver's side.

2. Stamped on a plate screwed to the body under the hood (correct location?).

3. Stamped on the frame, but where, exactly?

Are there any other locations where the vin should appear on a 77-79 620? Any locations where all or part of the VIN is stamped into the body panels?
