hattrickrider
hey guys im in a little bit of a jam and i was wondering if anyone had any advice for me. i own a 81 datsun 720 and im trying to replace the flywheel in it and the only flywheel i can even find is for a 2.4 liter motor. now i was sold the flywheel by mistake and didnt figure out it was the wrong one until after i installed it. the problem is i cant find a flywheel for my 2.2 liter anywhere so i was wondering if i could just put the clutch kit out of a 2.4 liter into my turck instead? any help is much appreciated thanks all. wayno
I use a Z block 240mm flywheel on my LZ23 hybrid engine and it worked fine. Just make sure you use the throw out bearing collar for the Z24 flywheel disc/clutch cover. Welcome to Ratsun B) Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Yes you can. The Z22 was likely a 225mm wheel while some of the Z24s came with a 240mm. So go ahead and get the 240mm matching clutch and pressure plate. The only problem is the collar or housing that the release bearing is pressed onto is sized to match your Z22 clutch and may nor work properly with the different pressure plate. Just check or look into this. Some clutch assembles may come with the proper collar in the kit Quote Link to comment
