double j
Well I finally decided I am going to get the cab acid dipped and let someone else do all the patching of the cancer. Taking it to Eugene for the acid dip once I get it all taken apart. Short time lapse from this afternoon. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=2557371630937 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
On my 620 I got help and slid the cab back and up off the steering column. (after removing the wheel and clam shell) It's one piece with the box so do NOT try to separate! Quote Link to comment

wayno
First I remove the steering wheel and turn signal assembly, then I unbolt the column from the dash, then I remove all the tierods from the pitman arm, and then unbolt the steering gear itself, then lift the steering gear straight up over the front core support and pull forward and out. I am not sure if the bench seat gets in the way of lifting the steering gear because the column drops as you lift the steering gear up, but one should take precautions to make sure the seat doesn't get damaged or greasy, I generally already have removed the bench seat before I have gotten that far. I have removed mine at least 3 times(3 differant frames) till I think I have finally found the right home for it. Here are a couple differant times. Here is a link to the build on this truck. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/27671-1966-datsun-520-kingcab-project-act-2/page__view__findpost__p__545211__hl__wayno__fromsearch__1 Quote Link to comment
stillachevyguy
how exactly does the column shaft come out? do you HAVE to pull the wheel and turn signals and slide it out? Quote Link to comment
