AWSpoofwil Posted December 3, 2012 Report Share Posted December 3, 2012 so when my dad and i were working on my 1978 620, i was playin with the dash light dimmer switch and they got stuck permently on, even when the truck and headlights were completly off, so my dad cut the switch off so it didnt run the battery down. and now even if we try to hook them back up, they wont turn on... help! Because the wires are all the same color and you wont.know which wires to splice back together. Next time Dad should just unplug it instead of. Cutting it. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike Posted December 3, 2012 Report Share Posted December 3, 2012 The dash lights can't be on when the headlights/parking lights are off. Dash lights come from the headlight switch and are on when the parking lights are on. Quote Link to comment

datsunaholic Posted December 4, 2012 Report Share Posted December 4, 2012 That would also mean the universal switch was wired wrong. Universal switches usually have a dimmer built in, the Datsun one did not. Or, got the dash lights wired to the dome light section of the universal switch (also something the Datsun switch didn't have). Quote Link to comment
