I was formerly FHMan1905, but i can't remember my password and my old email account was hacked, so i can't even log in...Made a new ID....

I have an 81 720 with a z22.....blew a head gasket the other day and pulled the head this morning, and the cam journals are beat to pieces...i guess the head gasket was the least of the problems....Wondering what my options are...I am having some issues finding a complete reman head with a cam...so just curious as to options...any help would be great!

Thanks Guys!

I have a complete Z22 block head that had EFI on it when I tore it down, I used the block for a LZ23 hybrid engine, I have no clue about the shape of the head, I just know that the former owner told me the engine ran when pulled, he was a liar IMO.

I would want $30.00 plus shipping for the head, I can also take/publish photos of it, just need to know what photos you need.

I know nothing about Z block heads, or where to look for wear/damage.

I think i have found a new head...it is off a z22, but has a knock sensor and one of the water jackets is a little different...it is a reman head at a machine shop and they say neither the water jacket or knock sensor hole is a big deal...and that it will work....any advice....also they have talked about me sending them my head and line boring the journals and putting in a z24 cam....any one done this in a z22 head?....will that z24 cam cause any timing issues?

Only the Z20 in the 720 truck had a knock sensor and it was in the block. What you have is a Z20E or a Z22E head from an S110 (200sx) and they have a water temp sender for the EFI computer. I had two, and both are identical to the Z24 head except that the intake port shape is round.

Z24 top and Z20/22 bottom... same bolt pattern.

The Z22 and the Z24 cams are identical.
