brownevan Posted November 23, 2012 Author Report Share Posted November 23, 2012 turned super slow until it wouldn't crank anymore. tested it at the battery and the starter and the starter's getting good power. as soon as I jump the car it purrs and will drive as long as I need; pretty sure it's just a new starter, eh? also, the car has sat for 2 years in dry storage until I started driving it daily. datzenmike Posted November 23, 2012 Report Share Posted November 23, 2012 Well I don't know how or what method you are using to test the power to the starter. Won't cost you anything to clean the battery cables on the battery. Don't forget the negative cable where it bolts to the block? And clean and tighten the positive where it bolts to the starter lug. Have you tried boosting with another battery? Tired batteries will test at 12 volts but crank about 5 times and they're done. Quote Link to comment
