carl
Ive done the ka swap in my 620 but i wanted to get rid of some of the plugs in the trany. what plugs do you realy need to have? thanks Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
It needs all of them. Well technically you could weld up the drain plug and fill plug openings, but then how would you know how full it is? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Then again perhaps he means switches??? Quote Link to comment
carl
Sorry yes that's what I mean the switches Quote Link to comment
carl
I want to eliminate some of the wires Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Keep the reverse lights and just cut the others off. No one is going to see them anyway. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Being a KA, which is fuel injected, how many of the gear switches are plugged into the ECU? I'd worry about that. It's still run, but optimally? Quote Link to comment
carl
What about the sensor at the top of the bell housing what is that for Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Ha. Yeah I've heard of that. I think it's a CAS. Better leave that. Put it this way leave everything alone. If working don't mess with it. I assumed you had switches that were not connected. Quote Link to comment
71kat510
What about the sensor at the top of the bell housing what is that for ya its a s14 trans that has a breather in it it would be the crank angle sensor then theres reserve lights speedometer and one more i cant think of what it is Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
S14 ECU has a lot more inputs than CAS and speedometer. It doesn't monitor reverse light switch, but *might* monitor nuetral or top gear switches. Quote Link to comment
71kat510
neutral safety switch isnt important deleted it every time on my 240's but thats not on the transmisson Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Do you mean 240SX? Some 240Z needed it (depends on the year and whether CAL or AUTO) but even if it did you can easily modify the ignition system to work without it (by connecting advance directly). Quote Link to comment
