TheBirdistheWord
So, I bought the car with an electronic trunk release and the lock cylinder shaved. I had foreseen that posing a problem if the popper failed seeing as how there is no other access point, but decided to tend to other things first. Im prepared to fix the issue I neglected to in the first place, I just have no idea how to get the trunk off in its current form. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well try removing the rear side marker and look in with a flashlight. Best to remove the back seat and try to reach over the gas tank. Quote Link to comment
twofouroh
NUMBER ONE reason I will never shave a car. Go to the JY (or the webs) and find one you can look at from the inside. My friend broke his hood release, so I went to the yards to find the best way to crack it. Worked like a charm. Also, think about drilling through where the lock cylinder was. The release has got to be right there. What car is it anyway? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
When you get it fixed maybe run a release cable up the trunk lid over the gas tank and available behind the rear seat. Or even better one of those gas door release cables that's located down beside the driver's seat. Quote Link to comment
TheBirdistheWord
its a 510, probably going to just use the key when I get it fixed, maybe a cable later on. drilling out the shaved area is an idea, can anyone send me pictures of their trunk lock mechanism so I can better judge where I need to drill?
