PineClone
I have a line on an extremely clean 78 sedan with 81k miles. No rust, all original, interior is near perfect. $1500. The biggest downside for me is that its an automatic transmission. Should this discourage my purchase? I've never owned one, but have always admired these. I used to own a 72 Z-car and have always had a soft spot for Datsuns. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Kisor
Don't let an auto discourage you, It's easy enough to swap out and if the car is really that clean go for it. I may be bias for a couple reasons, My car is an auto, and it's the only one I've ever seen in my area. Lol.... Quote Link to comment
DaBlist
I think B210s are under appreciated and have cool 70s lines. How many doors and which roof style? Quote Link to comment
RedBanner
Yes, get it, swap takes a day if you read up on it. Plus the autos are USUALY beat on less. Quote Link to comment
RedBanner
He said sedan so its not a hatchback/coupe. Quote Link to comment
PineClone
Its a 2 door sedan. I was thinking the same thing regarding wear and tear on the tranny. The automatic may as not have been beaten on as much. Quote Link to comment
LeviGideon
Do it. With the right tools and a friend to help it's a really easy swap over to a manual. I swapped my wagon trans a month or so ago in an evening with almost no help. And it you're not doing a lot of traveling, the auto isn't that bad around town. Quote Link to comment
Kisor
My auto gets beaten unmercifully, I should replace my gas pedal with a switch.. lol.. I wish 2nd gear would wind out a little higher RPM, it shifts right at 60mph into 3rd but manually holding it into 2nd it pulls fine to 65. I don't know what ungodly RPM it is with no tach but I would guess it to be above 6K. I'll check it tomorrow. Quote Link to comment
