onekickkawi
I am about to install the SR20DET engine in to my 510 but before I do I have a few question on if I can remove some items. Do I need to use the IAA (idle control valve) on the intake manifold? Do I need to use the coolant lines that go to the throttle body? I have the Can/AM box from and I understand the wiring box, however it doesn’t specify what part of the harness to pull the wires from. Quote Link to comment

Yes and No, simple google search will basically tell you that your SR will run like shit. 2. No, but it will help with cold starts. 3. Should be a pretty straight forward install. The wires needed are the ones cut near the ecu plug. Read this http://community.ratsun.net/topic/537-how-to-wire-a-ka-ca-sr-and-vg-into-anything/ Quote Link to comment
onekickkawi
I read that, and when i talked to him he said cutting the wires from the ecu is a common mistake, thats not where you pull your signal from Quote Link to comment
onekickkawi
Is that where you pulled all your wires? from the ECU plug? and it worked? Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
There is a set of plugs that normally goes to the chassis harness on a "S" chassis car. That is where you grab all the wires for the can/am box. Quote Link to comment
onekickkawi
So it looks like these are the connectors that go to the chassis and these are where i pull the wires to the can am? Quote Link to comment
freekwonder
I love the 1. Yes and No, simple google search will basically tell you that your SR will run like shit. 2. Read this http://community.rat...-into-anything/ I LOVE the "how to wire" thread, but at the same time I'm thinking it needs to be cleaned up and condensed REALLY bad lol. Quote Link to comment
