Wanted L16 Shorty Header for 521!!!

I have one installed on my 521 but it's all banged up and rusty. So i'm looking to purchase one to replace. Anyone has one that's in good condition please hit me up.

Cheaper to put the stock manifold back on. It'll never get banged up or rust out.

You're absolutely right! But i dont have it, i only have the top manifold where the carb sits.

That's the problem, they get all dinged and rusty after just a few years.

 

But the stock cast header lasts 40+ years. And flows just as well.

Only advantage to a header is it weighs less.

 

Stock manifold is...

 

quieter

fits without mods

never wears out

cheaper/already installed

doesn't leak/come loose

Nothing wrong with a header. In some cases they are worth it if the motor is modified, the more modified the better that is. Making power is all about getting air through the motor as fast and in as large a quantity as possible. A header will get it out quickly. But so will the stock manifold on a close to stock motor at below 6K. Most times a header is just expense, bother, and disappointment. Spend the money on something that will actually do something.

Top End Performance sells them for about 150 and best to get it ceramic coated for another 120$.

 

or find a 510/521 exhaust manifolf and get a Y pipe made or the 521 down pipe to clear the torsion bar
