Air and gas go in. Air and gas get compressed in a closed chamber. Air and gas get ignited to create an explosion. Ignited air/fuel mixture is expelled from motor. Gap your points. flatcat19 Posted August 9, 2012 Report Share Posted August 9, 2012 The points are in the distributor. They are what distributes the spark to the plugs. They need to be at a certain clearance to be able to work. New ones are cheap. Feeler gauge is like $4 at Harbor Freight. Half an hours worth of work will do wonders. Quote Link to comment

I also have one runnning light working "better than not working at all" and it either the bulb or a wire somewhere. banzai510(hainz) Posted August 14, 2012 Report Share Posted August 14, 2012 read olddatsuns.com the tech section!!!!!!!!!!!!! reverse lights are a minor issue if any. worry about the running lights and headlites and blinks. make sure bulbs are ok %21 you can get to the back side of the lamps turn it left and the housing will come out. replace bulb if needed.
