Joel,

Let me help with your pictures first.

By the term "tub" do you mean the rear body or the cab?

The rear body (pick-up bed) is from a 320 not a 520 so that is likely why it looks poorly positioned. In reality it looks like they did a pretty good job of matching the top of the pick-up bed to the cab's window line. The bottom edge of the pick-up bed was always high even on the 320, it was never intended to match the rocker height.

If you can drop the pick-up bed so the cab and pick-up bed "belt line" panel contour matches it might align fairly close at the rocker, but you may not like the lowered height of the pick-up bed rails relative to the cab. Also you may need to heavily modify the floor/wheelhouse area of the pick-up bed to clear the frame and/or tires.

I have always thought this pick-up bed, even on the original 320 looked strange, like it was never supposed to be on the vehicle in the first place.

You'd likely be better off trying to find a 520 pick-up bed than modifying the mounts for the 320 one..

This is what the box you should have on your truck looks like, you can also use a 521 box as they are the same except for the taillights, but not sure you aussies imported the 521 there.

You could also do an aftermarket box like mine,

or you could use a 1950ish chevy truck box modified to look correct with aftermarket dually type fenders like the ones in the photo above without the stepside part.

Any stepside box modified to be proportionally correct looks good, but cutting down the fenders to make them look correct is a lot of work.
