alabama_lowlife
I've searched around but there are quite a few options and I just really don't know where I should get a rebuild kit from for my carburetor. I'm not sure exactly which one I have but from looking on here, I know it's a hitachi carb. I saw one thread that said the rebuild kit covered all of them and you just use to appropriate gaskets. I usually use autozone due to it being the most convenient option for me. They have a GP/Sorensen kit that's listed for a 70 521. It says it doesn't include a float and I can't seem to find anywhere that has one that I know is the right one. Can anybody just post a link to a kit so I know without a doubt I'm getting the right thing? Thanks Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Get just about anywhere. eBay, local auto parts store. Rockauto has one for $10 Rebuild Kits do not include floats. They really don't fix much unless you have a ripped gasket or the needle-and-seat is leaking. I usually just clean the carb and reuse the old gaskets. Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
To me a 510/521 carb rebuilt kit is like trying to work on a rubix cube. I cant get it.Too many small parts to keep track of. I just get a weber DGV its a 3rd world carb that African Bushmen can keep together Quote Link to comment
alabama_lowlife
I just picked one up from autozone. The only thing I had any trouble with was the linkages. I took several pictures but it was so dirty before that all the spacers and linkages just blended together. Replaced everything I could and cleaned it as much as I could. The bowl window still leaked when I got it put back together, as the kit didn't include the rubber seal for the glass. I took it apart again and used some sealant that is supposed to be fuel safe. I'll try it out tomorrow and hope that took care of it. At the very least, it looks better lol Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes, a carb kit does not include the site glass seal. that's normal. Quote Link to comment
xxmass
if ur kit came with a round rubber seal, that is the one for the sight glass, just need to form it into the channel. i purchased an Auto-Tune 15474B from rockauto. if you still having trouble with linkage i can take and send pictures as my carb is not on the truck any more. decided to go weber 32/36.
