ChevelleDude71
looks awesome Thanks! I'd trade it all for your engine! worked on getting the headlights working today. After by-passing the relay and fixing some grounds I discovered another thing about my car that I shouldn't be surprised about... the previous owner wired all four lights to work in the low beam setting AND I have no high beams. So the question is do I rewire it to the factor setup or just make the outside headlight switch to the brighter filament with the high beam switch? I"ll probably just leave it for now and fix it later... Next I started replacing the 1/4 window weather seals..... I immediately regret this decision, these things are tedious especially when you buy the cheaper straight weather seal, if I had to do it again i would buy the nice one piece molded seals... One side done, I might do the other side tomorrow. Quote Link to comment

ChevelleDude71
Wow, this thing is fantastic. And such a ballzy color. Thumbs up man! Thanks! It was between Kawasaki green and the S2000 Apex Blue. So either way it was going to be bright. I love how the green turned out. I put the lights and grill in today, still need to fix the wiring to the side markers and the front ambers. 1 Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
I would fix the wiring. Its pretty simple. then you can buy a H4 harness and plug in to the stock plug Quote Link to comment

ChevelleDude71
Alright I'm stuck. I have been kicking around how to make this car more driveable. the current L16 is all good except for the carb that is just plane worn out, I rebuilt it and it just doesn't run like I would like it to. So here the question do i: 1) Spend 200 bucks on a new webber carb, and drive the L-16 till it breaks, (Which might take a while) (and hate how slow it is) or 2) Spend 1000 to buy a KA24de (I would just buy 240sx crap car, use the tranny and rebuild the engine, junk/sell the rest) or 3) Spend 1300-1400 to buy a CA18DET (I like the power potential, and the smaller displacement for HOPEFULLY some good MPG so I could drive it to work, which is around 70 miles round trip) What do you guys think? rusty12ver
Buy webber, drive car, then buy ca/Ka, rebuild newly aquired engine. It will surely need to be gone through. Ca is at least 24yrs old. Not exactly "low mileage" engines anymore. Quote Link to comment

I wish you all the luck in your build and i hope you make the right decision on the motor. All the best!! Quote Link to comment
ChevelleDude71
Thanks for the advice, I found a super killer deal on a ka24de with tranny. So ill be picking that up tomorrow. There will be a rebuilt L16 with 5- speed for sale in the next couple of days (so I can fund the rest of the parts needed) Quote Link to comment
