Burns85
Hi Guys, Ive can say that Ive been reeping for quite some time and finally decided to join. Used to live in Shingle Springs CA, but am currently residing in Maine. Ive got the chance to buy a 620, its a 1978, L20B, 4spd, king cab, 99k miles, heat, a/c, and best of all NEW TIRES, haha. Anyways, my dilemma comes from the rust. The frame itself is clean other than peeling undercoat, a wire wheel will clean it up very fast (which is what I planned on doing), but the rockers are pretty much gone, and the sides of the bed are on thier way out. My question to Ratsun would be, what are my options? Id plan to build a flat bed while working on (or searching for) a new bed, other than that the floors are good and the other metal. Any suggestions would be great. and here is a link to the C-List add ( http://maine.craigslist.org/cto/3039023285.html ). Ive driven it, runs good, stops (well not that great), and all around impresses me for the age and location. Let me know, thanks! Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Option #1: drive it. The rocker panels are not a structural part on a full-frame vehicle. Option #2: Patch it Option #3: replace the entire rocker panel You can't go wrong with $700 it is runs and drives nice. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Look on the insides of the frame, the sides that face inward, between the cab and rear end. Mine rotted out and you couldn't see it with a quick look see. Other than that a good price. Quote Link to comment
