DRIVEN
If anyone has hints for an easy replacement for my 1200's rearend, i'd appreciate the help. I'm not affraid to do some fab work but I (like everyone else) want it to be as cheap and easy as possible. I'm currently leaning towards an RX7 GSL-SE for these reasons; disk brakes, limited slip, same wheel bolt pattern, drop-out third member, cheap and plentiful. The only draw back is that it is too wide. I can narrow the housing but I don't really want to buy new axles. I can go 1-2 inches wider than stock but no more. Any alternative suggestions? datzenmike
Positive offset rims? Seriously, what is the stock width from where the rim seats against the hub to the other side? The axles can be re-splined after shortening. Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
Stock rearend is 51" drum to drum. Wheel size is 14x6 (7" outside of lip) and 1/2" offset (negative? like a FWD wheel not like a sprint car). There are pics of the whhels on the car in 1200 area under "gray/silver coupe in Hillsboro". Sorry, I'm new and haven't figured out how to post pics. Quote Link to comment
