intake/ exhaust questions

Recommended Posts

So I bought a 620 2 weeks ago and I'm going through stuff under the hood. on the inake and exhaust manufold there are these metal lines comming out that are suppost to be from an exhaust pump? looks like most of the emissions stuff has been hacked out. My mechanic friend says i should get a new manifold and start fresh.

Is there a way to remove all that stuff and still have the rest of my systems work perfectly? I'm about to rebuild the carb tomorrow but not sure what to do after that.

I'll take some pics today when I'm working on the carb. and my buddy down the street has a manual somewhere. Prolly dig it out when we're doing the carb. He's helping me fix my truck, then when he gets his taxes I'm helping him build his new off road rig. Pretty good deal haha i get to have twice as much fun

There was major back pressure issues, but i cut the clogged cat off a couple days ago. I have no muffler just 6 ft of pipe now. It runs ans drives great, i just want to get back some mpg's... I think I'm going to get an intake with all the smog stuff still on it and a manual choke kit to fix my faulty electric choke. Then prolly do more with the exhaust to restore my back pressure. kinda just taking it one roblem at a time.
