strut insert part# ? help!

Please forgive my lack of knowledge as this subject has been covered at length. But I tried a google search on "strut part# 734632" and the only thing coming up is Gabliel out of South Africa. The inserts are stamped "Made in USA". Thanks for any help.

As I am reading more, Every ones inserts body lengths are much shorter than mine. The body is 16 3/4".

Assume this is for the 70 goon in your profile? Too bad the valve body was taken out and replaced with an insert or you could have just replaced the oil.

I wish I had them also, but it sounds that if I lower the car much with that tall of a strut, it won't leave much in suspension travel. I learned a lot speaking with Jay at Ground Control today, and he said he guessed I would be wanting a shorter strut body in the near future. For the reason explained above and now would be a good time to do it. Any recommendations on inserts. From what I have read, it seems that the Tokico blues are popular.

You will need to shorten the strut tube to take any advantage of a shorter cartridge. Are your's stock '70 struts?

I have miss written the year of the wagon. Opps. It's a 71. I think I was told in 1969 the strut body size was changed. The guy at Ground Control said that the wagons had taller struts than sedans. At least that Is how I understood him.

yea if your strut tube is stock your going to have a hard time finding any inserts, unless you have a ridiculous amount of spacers

You can fit shorter inserts in stock un-cut struts. Just use spacers. It's not rediculous at all.

 

Or just buy new insert cartridges for stock Datsun 510. Google this: datsun 510 strut insert cartridges

Or swap to 280zx strut assemblies. The are shorter and the bonus is bigger brakes! They could also be shortened if you want to go even lower, then you could use mr2 inserts or rabbit inserts.

1982 nissan maxima cartridge from rock auto, is what im going to try all the specs. Seem to match up to what i need but the P.O. of my goon shortened the tubes an inch or so to 15in so they should fight snugly!
