datzenmike Posted March 5, 2012 Report Share Posted March 5, 2012 1,800 to 2,200 RPM is normally the setting. If an automatic, let it idle for 30 seconds while you fasten seat belt and check the radio/mirrors... them give a soft tap on the gas and it will drop slightly so you can put in gear. If not the transmission will thump into gear. Won't hurt anything it's just annoying. If you have a standard you drive immediately if you like. Quote Link to comment
