rome11six
So right now im swaping one of my ka24de's out of a 240sx into my 1974 620, i got the engine mounts figured out. (i think) I wanted to just see if the 240sx tranny would work in the truck, but its way to long. im pretty sure the stock tranny that came in the truck was the short tail 4 speed, iv read icehouses post about what tranny to use here http://community.rat...hp?showtopic=37 but it doesnt say if any of the bell swaps will work with the 4 speed short tail. can i get the 4-5 speed long tail drive shaft and do a bell housing swap and bolt it up? has and body done this? If i have to ill just use the stock ka tranny and just cut the drive shaft and make my own tranny cross member, it would just be easier to find a way to just bolt it up with out any big modifications! datzenmike
Use the KA 5 speed and shorten the front driveshaft. If it's the F4W63 short tail it won't fit properly, can't be made to fit properly, and will not survive a KA's thunder. Quote Link to comment
rome11six
thats what i thought, oh well! Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
You could also use a NAPZ 720 5-speed. You will still need to get the correct front portion of the driveshaft. The 720 front portion may work, but I have not checked that. Quote Link to comment
rome11six
i pulled the front drive shaft today and put the motor and tranny in to see how it would all fit. its not as bad as i thought it would be ill be making a build thread in a couple days and post pics of everything.
