72 521 - mine!!!

Ok I have posted in other areas but I am going to try to combine all to 1 thread. You have seen the pics of the 72'. Well I am just about done with some engine bay cleaning... Looks good. I also got a L16 with a blown head gasket I am going to mate to the original trans until I go crazy (got to prove to my wife I can make it run). Then all holds barred the LZ22 or L20B will go in with a 5spd...

Ok I got the engine bay semi cleaned and spreayed down the interior. Here are some shots:

S some of you know the original engine is/was seized in this cutie pie. I got it pulled and separated the head and the block. I think I known why it was frozen:

Engine bay looks way better Mike. You can also do the same thing on the floor of the cab to clean it. And yeah...id say those pistons are toast..:rolleyes: You do have a good donor motor right or enough parts to build one?

Thanks Mark... Yeah I picked up a head off a 510 in the yard and another complete motor with a blown head gasket. Plus I still have the L20B that I am going to go crazy on in the future. For now I am going to frankenstein the L16 pieces together and get one running...

yikes! have you been able to find any cracks in the head or block.? i forget the spots they are supposed to appear. the bay is lookin good. nice original door panels and radio too.
