d510addict
I would like to remove the window swipes from my doors on my 521 and glue on newer rubber squeegees so that water doesn't drain into my door. I found some that look like they will work with some slight modifications off of a Volvo 760 i believe, but I do not know how to pull the little metal piece that the swipe is attached to, anyone ever pulled these things? How do you do it? Quote Link to comment
'70 521 L16
there are 3 or 4 little clamps along the inside lip of the door. if you roll it all the way down, you should be able to feel them. then just pry them open just enough to remove the old squeegee. i was able to get them out in like 2 mins with just a flathead. DanielC
The little clips that hold the window wipes on the door have small teeth, or barbs that catch on the wipe, and also catch on the bottom edge of the metal of the door. If you can reach inside the door, you can spring them slightly open, and they will come free. Quote Link to comment
