blueridgespeed Posted April 7, 2008 Report Share Posted April 7, 2008 The U67 is also (one of) the preferrd heads for doing an L-Z 2.2 type Frankenstein engine. If you want to do Nissan pistons, the KA24E (single cam, stock piston diameter 89mm) are still available, and you can bore a z22 block, use the crank from that block, and with the U67 head you still have a pump-gas amenable compression ratio. (Z22E or Z22s pistons were NLA a few years ago when I was doing a rebuild) I had a setup like this in my last 510, with Mikuni 44's and a custom cam from Malvern racing and I loved it. The U67 is a 'open chambered' head. The closed chambered heads have their advantages as well - more detonation resistant, etc. It's all on the links above. Quote Link to comment
