I have a 1982 280zx NA with no spark. The coil is good. brand new ignition module, power is getting to distributor and fuel injectors but not to the plugs. Can I check anything else without replacing the ECU? I checked fuseable links and relays and all is good there. All the wires also looked good in the distributor. Please let me know. Thanks

brand new ignition module

There's a problem. The original Hitachi OEM modules never go bad unless hooked up backwards.

The spark is independant of the ECU. So don't bother to replace the ECU.

With KEY ON, engine OFF, measure to see if there is a full 12V at the ignition module. What V does is read? It might be getting only 9 volts or something. That's why a test light is of limited value, and Voltmeter is much better.

I get 10 volts. What would I need to replace? The car quit on its own so I am guessing it was not because they were backwards. I pulled the motor, overhauled it, reinstalled and replace the ignition module the same as it was hooked up when disassembled. Still will not start with no spark. Should have checked the spark prior to pulling but acted like a timing chain had slipped. Happened to me before with another vehicle and symptoms were the same. When I was driving her and the motor died the motor pulsed as if it missed a beat and then stalled and would not start. Still the same problem with not starting now.
