atkinson40
I can hear and smell an exhaust leak around the exhaust manifold area. When its cold I've felt at the junction of the manifold/muffler tube and can't feel anything. Any known areas before I take off the air filter and start looking at the exhaust manifold area? For troubleshooting I'm thinking of putting a tiny feather from a duster on the end of a stick and probing around until I see it being blown. Any other ideas? Thanks Kevin Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
The standard method is to use a hose to your ear, and move the other end around the manifold. You will find exactly where the noise is coming from. You can use a length of heater hose, washer drain hose or garden hose. Don't remove the intake manifold. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
what I do is put my hand under the intake exhaust manifold and feel for hot air comming out. Plus it stinks like you say. I notice if you have the exhaust side of the bolts fall out it will lossen up but still drive and blow out/crack the center 2 holes in the exhaust manifold Quote Link to comment
