Help: What motor is this ? help me ID my engine

I just picked up a spare motor:

 

trying to ID my motor

 

here is what is stamped on it,

 

 

nissan / datsun

13 - 210 - M2

Sounds like an L motor to me.

 

Check here, it will be engraved.

You have a '71 521 so if you have a spare motor it's likely an L series. As Laecaon said look just below the head on the top outer edge of the block directly behind the dip stick. It's stamped there. Use a wire brush to get the rust off.

 

I have an M2 casting and it's an L20B.
