Need help setting up turn signal/parking lights in old fog light housings.

I swapped a different grille into my 710, and since there isn't space for the original turn signals I figured that I'd wire up an old pair of fog lamps (with different bulbs) as my turn signals. After the fog lamps arrived in the mail I noticed that the turn signal/parking lamps have two filaments and two conductors on their base (like the bulb to the right in the photo), and the fog lamps have only one conductor/filament. (like the bulb to the left in the photo)

Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can get the fog lamps to work as turn signal/parking lamps? I thought maybe I could just switch the wiring over, but the 2-conductor wiring needs a different type of socket to keep the 2 conductors in the right place for the bulb.

Yeah... I checked, and on the two-conductor bulb the bayonet pins are at different heights, so the bulb won't fit in the socket, even if I file slots in the socket so that the conductors won't rotate.

I'm guessing that if I just twist the two green conductor wires together I'll end up with turn signals that don't work whenever my headlights are on, right?

I managed to solve the problem with a hacksaw, rat-tail file and some epoxy. I cut the sockets off of the original turn signals and made them fit in the old fog lights I bought on ebay. I was even able to re-use the old holes for the US grille to mount the fog lights.

Maybe I should have used some larger fog lights?
